{ Let's Talk "Hair" with Girl Of The Year Isabelle! }

As I came towards the bathroom this morning, I noticed McKenna dragging our zebra chair through the bathroom door.  "Oh good gravy, McKenna!!  What in blazes are you doing??"  "Oh, I'm just getting the bathroom ready to have Isabelle sit down and show us how she attaches that super cool ombre hair clip!  You said we could do this today, remember?  Enquiring minds want to know, Saige!  Hey, can you give me a hand with this chair?" she asked.

I was like, "Sure.....I forgot we talked about that McKenna.  This is a great idea!"  As McKenna backed up, I saw Salsa, our itty bitty Chihuahua right behind her and it worried me a bit.  But then I thought, hey, she moves pretty darned fast.  I guess you have to when everyone is like 100 times bigger than you are!

Ha!  Just as we got through the bathroom side, I guess Salsa decided that the safest place to be was ON the chair, which also meant she could go for a short little ride!  Silly little Salsa!

I called Isabelle in and started combing through her beautiful, long hair.....it was so thick and so healthy!  I was thinking of all the wonderful styles I could suggest when McKenna returned from getting a drink in the kitchen.  We both listened as Isabelle told us how she likes to put her clips in when she goes out.  She showed us how she has three little spots where she hooks the ombre piece into her own hair.  It's really very cool and both McKenna and I love the color!

Here is a bit closer peek...she said there are three of these little hooks that hold her ombre hair piece in.  Cute isn't it?

After finishing combing Isabelle's hair, I wanted to show her some bows...especially this one that has all these super fun colors.  She did like it but she declined to wear it today as she still didn't think the bow's style matched what she had on.  That was fine with me.....she can wear it any time she wants.

After McKenna and I dragged the zebra chair back to the bedroom we all decided we were hungry and going to get a bite to eat.  McKenna and Isabelle suggested some leftover pizza would be good......of course, that is if Trey didn't scarf it all down this morning.  He loves cold pizza for breakfast - yuck!

We had loads of fun with all the girl talk in the bathroom.  No place would have been more appropriate for our little 'hair discussion', right?  We girls always like to go together to the bathroom anyway so this just seemed natural.....and fun!

Thanks for reading!  Hope you enjoyed it!!  ~Saige ♥

    2. Hi! I'm sorry I'm putting my comment on this post! I'm not really sure how to work this, but I'm thinking about doing a profile for my dolls. How did you start this blog? Thanks, americangirldollbffs! :)

    3. Hi Laurn, Well, using "Blogger" is free but you might need the help of an adult to get it set up. Or maybe an older sister or friend. It's pretty easy to set up. Then you add what's called a "page" and that can be your profiles of your dolls. Have fun!!! OH, and Merry Christmas!!! ~The D3 Girls ♥

You have a very pretty name! The girls and I are so busy visiting with Isabelle and starting our decorating for Christmas that we just don't have a lot of extra time right now. Is there a particular girl here that you'd like to interview? Let me know and then the girls and I can talk about it!

    1. Hi Marisa! Glad to see you here again! Actually, believe it or not, it was really hard to get Isabelle's clips to show at all. They are pretty hidden when she puts in the clip.....which I guess is why she likes it so much cause it doesn't show at all. Plus, it doesn't 'catch' when she combs her hair. :) You know those little clips that are at the ends of bathing suit straps to make them removable? That's what these are like. They are very small and very low profile and they slip into an itty bitty loop that is in her hair. No other girl has a hair piece like this so we think she is really special! Thanks for your question! ~Saige ♥

  5. Thanks for sharing more pictures of your gorgeous dorm and the fun adventures that happen there. I also didn't get a good view of the clips, even after zooming in as much as possible, so if you wouldn't mind sharing just a few more photos I would be very grateful. Thanks again for these photos - it's always a treat to see your latest posts!

    1. Hi AGInParadise, Since Isabelle is just visiting, she had to pack light so we won't be seeing any of her fun accessories until the New Year. Isabelle talks very fondly about her mother's sewing room and sewing machine. In fact, Isabelle has a nickname for her mother's sewing machine.....she calls it Henrietta! So, we are really hoping that she has a sewing machine in her accessories cause all of us girls would LOVE to have a sewing machine here at the dorm. We need to make curtains for some of our rooms and a new sewing machine would be sweet! ~Saige ♥

    1. Hello again Marisa! We are getting asked this same question a lot. First, we so very much appreciate that everybody loves our photos. That is part of what we hope makes are blog unique. As we have said to others about using our images; We appreciate that you asked us first! This shows us that you are a very mature young lady and understand that the person who creates a photo is the person who owns the copyright...good for you!!! We are impressed!! So please understand that because we do put an awful lot of time into the photos we share of our dorm's happenings and adventures, we would like for our images to be used here on our blog only. We hope that you will understand......and we hope that all the other readers will also respect our wishes that our photos are not copied, cropped or used on other blogs, forums, etc. We are okay with pinning to Pinterest as well as posting a photo or two to your Instagram. But as far as our photos being used on someone else's blog, we respectfully request that our photos not be used in that way. Thank you Marisa! The girls and I are so thankful that you are enjoying our blog and we are sending you a big (((HUG)))!! ~Saige & the D3 girls. ♥

  16. Hey, McKenna, what tips do you have to make a really pretty doll room? Yours are SO cool! So far I have a black locker rug, and my uncle made me replica's of AG's Dreamy daybed and storage tower for Christmas (but he let me have them early!). My mom is really good at sewing too so she might make me a comforter, any help would be awesome!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hiya! Well, what us girls here do is we get everyone's suggestions for room colors and then we vote! Once the color is determined, we like to go to the paint store and find that exact color. Sometimes we bring home paint samples to put up in the room for all us girls to see. Once we have settled on the final color, we head to the fabric store and pick out fabrics for curtains and bedding. (we sewed the comforters and sheets and all in the Zebra room ourselves so having your mom do that for you is super!) Then, the fun part - ACCESSORIES! Now, this is tricky cause if a vase or toy is too big, we just can't use it. So, we are always looking for things that are exactly our size. For instance, the bookshelves in the Zebra room were sold as organizers but when we put them up on their end...they were the perfect size for bookshelves to hold all our special things! Sounds like you have a way cool uncle who can make some furniture for you....that is sooooo awesome! Have fun with it and be sure to share! ~Saige ♥

  33. Wonderful blog and photos. Where did you get the zebra chair....awesome

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello Margaret, Isn't our zebra chair the coolest? We love how it turned out! It was a project that we girls started a couple months ago. We found an old, used AG brand upholstered chair. It was a very pale blue cotton material. We didn't like the color at all so we decided to paint it - I know you are thinking; wait, what? We bought cheap bottles of craft paint at the local art store and painted the entire chair white. Since we had the zebra material that we made our comforters out of, we looked at it and sketched the zebra design in pencil on the now-white chair, then painted in the black and VOILA, a totes-cool zebra chair that matched our room! We've still wondered if we should paint the arms or not but for now, we like the "two tone" look! ~Saige ♥

      Delete
    2. I've looked on the American Girl Wiki and can't seem to find your chair, even keeping in mind it's actually blue. Are you sure it was AG brand? Nice blog by the way, and great photos. Can you show a picture of the whole doll house, and maybe a tour? I'd like to know where each room is in relation to the other rooms.

      Delete
    3. Well, after having so many readers ask about this chair, we did some checking ourselves.....and we, too, could not find it anywhere so now we think the person we bought it from who said is was AG was, well, "mistaken". So, it must be an off brand and unfortunately there is absolutely nothing on it to indicate it's maker. Sorry we couldn't help more! But you could do this with any cloth covered chair. ~Saige ♥

    1. Hi Evie! I keep my hair nice by taking a section of my hair and twist my brush as I go from top to bottom. If a piece of my hair starts to lose its curl, I take that piece, dampen it, and roll it up using the foam rollers and let it dry for a day or two. That always does the trick for me! I have both AG rollers and rollers that I bought from Dollar Tree. Hope that helps! :) ~Saige ♥
