{ Special Delivery }

Hello everybody....Lanie here.  I am super duper excited to share with you what happened here at the dorm yesterday!!  You are just not gonna believe it!

So, I was hanging out with Mia and McKenna in the upstairs bedroom cause we didn't have school due to a little bit of snow overnight.  Mia was cold so she brought her bedspread cover to keep her warm.  And of course her bed buddies had to come too!  They are both so cute.  So like, just as we were talking about how much we have missed school this month, Cindy bursts into the room slightly out of breath and says "The postman just came and brought this package and it has YOUR name on it, Lanie!!!!  You'll never, ever, ever guess who it's from!"

As she set the package down, I jumped up and ran over.  I have gotten lots of letters and postcards in the mail but I have never gotten a package so BIG!  I was soooooo excited to see who it was from!

I put the package up on the bed and O.M.GOLLY.GEE it was from Isabelle!!!!!  I nearly cried I was so excited!  I have missed her over the last few weeks so much.  And I had expected to receive a letter from her cause she promised to write but nothing had come.  And now THIS!

Mia was like, "Oh Cindy, what on earth could be in that huge-mongus box?"  "Wow, I don't know!  But it's so long, I wonder if it's a skate board?" Cindy replied.

Both exclaimed at the same time;  "Open it! Open it!"  Oh my gosh, I could not wait...not one more minute!!

As soon as I tore the first little piece of packaging paper, out of nowhere, Meatloaf appeared.  Good golly, that dog would hear paper tear even if all the doors were shut and he was outside in the snow!  He loves to "help" open packages by tearing the paper himself!

I called Cindy to come and hold him so I could finish opening the package without the paper getting all slimy with Meatloaf drool.  Blech!

Then I saw it!!!!  OH MY GOLLY, OH MY GOLLY, OH MY GOLLY!!!!  It's an American Girl® doll - and not just any doll but an ISABELLE doll!

I swear I could have just fainted right then an there!  Some of the other girls have an American Girl® doll and I have secretly always wanted one.  And now, not only do I have one that is all mine but it is of my close friend, Isabelle.  Only a really caring and good friend would know exactly what I would treasure the most!

Look how cute she looks in the box! I can see her pretty eyes through the box's little round window.  "Back off Meatloaf.  I don't want you anywhere near my Izzy doll!"

I slowly took her out of the box and it was all I could do not to cry a river of happy tears.  I didn't want to seem like a baby to the other girls, even though I am pretty sure they would have felt the same way if it was them and not me.  Look at her pretty pink hair streak!  It looks just like Izzy!!

I held her up and we bonded right there.  I could not believe she was mine.  I will love her and take care of her always....and never stop loving her no matter what! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Cindy came over to feel her hair and was amazed at how silky smooth it was.  "Oh Lanie, you are a very special girl and we all love you so much.  We are so very happy for you!  Now you have your very own doll and what a special doll she is!  You deserve it, sweet Lanie."

Just then we all heard the crunching, ripping and tearing of paper.  Uh oh, we turned and all three yelled;  "MEATLOAF!!!!!"  He didn't care....he just looked up at us with a look like; "What?  What's the problem?"  We all had to laugh at him....who could not love him, right?

I am so excited to spend lots of time with my little Izzy.  I also cannot wait to read her book.  Isabelle told us lots about herself but the book will have so much more about her and her family.  I'm going to sit down and write a thank you note to Isabelle.  She deserves a real hand-written note, not just a text or email.  When someone does something this special for you, it deserves a very special reply don't you think?

I am looking forward to making lots and lots of memories with my new little friend.  I might even keep a journal of all the places we visit and add photos that I take of her.  Oh, or maybe like a scrapbook...that would be cool!  I'll have to ask for one for my birthday!

Thanks for letting me share and reading along with me!  This was my first time posting and I hope you liked it!  Love you all!!  ~Lanie ✿

{ Wassup Peeps! }

Trey here!  I'm not sure if ya'll peeps know this or not but I like to spend time in the outdoors!  My friend, Alden, told me about this place up in town where they paved an old railroad track that was no longer in use.  He said it'd be cool to skateboard down.....dude knows how much I like to go boarding!  He also said that while I was there I needed to lay eyes on a super cool train caboose that has been restored.  Alden is way into trains.  He knows like, everything, about them!

So, I didn't bring my board cause I was just checking it out but boy - Alden was right - the caboose totally rocks!

I went over to the steps of the switch house and was thinking about what a fun but hard job it would have been to be an engineer or one of the dudes that had to jump off and throw the switches and jump back on.....maybe that is the conductor.....I don't have a clue, I'll have to ask Alden next time I see him.  At any rate, it'd be fun to travel the country and see all the different places but then you'd also be away from your family.  I'd totally hate that part.

Finally, I got to climb up on the actual caboose - it was totally rad!  It's such a big car too!  Did you know that cabooses served as a shelter car at the very end of a looooong train for the crew that was responsible for throwing the switches?  I learned that it also served as the conductors office.  Who knew?  This caboose actually had two very small bunks and an itty bitty cooking area too.   No food though and I was starting to hear my stomach make some very creepy sounds so I decided it was time to head back home.

Next time I come, I'm gonna bring my skate board for sure and maybe even bring Meatloaf for a walk but it was very cool seeing this super rad caboose!  Can't wait to tell Alden!
