{ Amazing Sunset }

So, if you are one of our Instagram peeps, you know that we had to leave the beach in North Carolina for a few days so we didn't get blown away by Hurricane Arthur!  We ended up at a funny little campground in the middle of "Nowhere, NC"......well, the town was actually called "Bear Grass" which totally gave us the creeps since neither of us like the idea of running into a bear up close and personal!  Any-who, we were not allowed back on Hatteras island for a few days after the hurricane and that made both Hollie and me very sad.  We both really missed the beautiful sunsets over the Pamilico Sound that we get to see every evening when camping there.

Finally, we got the official "okay" to return and we arrived just in time to ride over and take in the GORGEOUS sunset that evening!  Hollie and I just sat there in silence as the sun dropped in a glorious explosion of color!  It was totally amazing!!!  Honey and Boo loved it too!

Well, we have some great beach photos to share and are working on those.  And Trey is working on a post about an adventure he had with his best friend, Alden.  That's gonna be a fun post!!  ~Faith ✞

    1. Thanks Melody! Oh, we wish would could go back several times a summer! We only go once but it is for two weeks so we cannot complain.....except about the fact that Arthur cost us four days, lol. On your way to Ocracoke, you'll drive right by Frisco Woods Campground in Frisco, NC. It the town right before Hatteras Village. That's where this photo was taken. We normally take the ferry to Ocracoke for a day trip and stay on the beaches all day but this time, we didn't since we lost some days. Next year we want to visit for sure since we missed it this year. There's something very special about the lower Outer Banks, isn't there? It's our "happy place" for sure!! Be sure to share some photos on your blog!!! ~ Faith ✞

    2. It's too bad you lost your 4 days. Our friends were able to stay on Ocracoke during Arthur, but 50 poles were blown down and they were without power for a time. This will be our first time going. We're really looking forward to exploring all the great things they have told us about - pirates, WWII artifacts, shelling, etc. We hope to take lots of pictures.

    3. We made the best of it....us girls always say; when ya get lemons, make some lemonade! You are going to LOVE Ocracoke.....and the beaches are amazing. I hope you are able to drive out onto the beach so that you can really appreciate the amazing expanse of it's beauty. Shelling can be awesome.....we always find lovely shells on those beaches. I'm sure your friends will take you to all the great little places, including the lighthouse. We look forward to seeing your photos!

    4. They are definitely planning to drive us out on the beach. They have pictures of the line of vehicles on the beach watching Arthur approach and TONS of stories about people getting stuck because they either don't have the right vehicle for beach driving or they forgot to lower the air pressure. :-D

    5. Oh my! That's one thing you gotta do is lower your air pressure to be safe. Every year we see that one silly person who thinks they can drive the ole mini van out in the sand.....we're like, REALLY???? ☺☺☺

    6. Just plain silly those people are. :-D
      We've always liked dune buggies (like Speed Buggy) - that would be perfect for there.

    7. Back from Ocracoke...FABULOUS island. My sisters and I didn't get into to many pictures, but we did take some great pictures on the beach and of the sunsets. And we collected a LOT of great shells. Maybe we can get into more on our next visit; we hope to make this an annual trip like your family does.

  4. Oh, wow, the sunset is just gorgeous ♥ I'm quite excited to see sunsets like that, for in a few weeks I'm going on vacation in North Carolina (right where Arthur hit). I'll have to remember to pack my camera, but I'm quite positive I won't get photos as pretty as this ;)

    1. Thanks Maddie! Sounds like you are going exactly where we did! When we left, there were still piles of debris along the road sides in Rodanthe, Waves and Salvo. They were hit pretty hard.....so sad! Definitely pack your camera.....and experiment with your settings on the sunsets! ~Faith ✞

  16. i love your blog! i was wondering.. how did you put up the lights in your dorm room? im building a ag dollhouse and wanted to use something like it and ive seen other people do it before so ya! love this picture. - Gracie ;)

    1. Hello there Gracie! The little round white colored LED lights have sticky pads on the back so you pretty much just peel and stick. The black chandelier is a school "locker" decoration. It has a magnet so it was more of a challenge to hang. We ended up permanent gluing a large metal washer to the ceiling so the light would "stick" to the metal washer. Worked perfectly. Have fun building and decorating your AG Dollhouse.
