We girls here at the dorm decided to have some snacks that are good with peanut butter in honor of this day! It goes with pretty much anything: celery, crackers, pretzels, apples, bananas, chocolate, toast, pancakes and SO much more!! Coconut and Hershey are wild about peanut butter, too! I swear, whenever I open the jar I hear paws clicking down the hall and they're there in an instant!
One of my favorite foods is the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They are the BOMB!! I mean c'mon... everyone has had at least ONE in their lives!
"Hey, Isabelle! Did you know that most kids will eat 1,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before 12th grade?"
"Wow!" Isabelle exclaimed. "That's a LOT of PB&J's! Where did you hear that from??"
"Harper told me! She had to do a research report on it for school this past week!"
"Say, Harper! Can you tell Lanie and Isabelle more about National Peanut Butter Lover's Day?" I asked.
"Sure! It's referred to as a "national" holiday, even though it's not official. Peanut butter has been very popular since the early 1900's, but no one knows who invented it!! It is an $800 million dollar industry and has many different brands. The most popular brands are Jif, Skippy, and Peter Pan."
"Whoa!" Lanie said. "I'm just now realizing how much I use it! I've heard it's unhealthy for you, though. Is that true?"
"Well, it can be healthy in moderation. Peanut butter is a great source of healthy fats and proteins. The healthiest kinds are the brands with no added oil or sugar. Believe it or not, it can actually reduce the risk of certain heart diseases! Wild, huh?"
"Oh, golly! Who would have thought peanut butter can help your heart? Well, hears to my heart! I'm gonna heat my muffin and then smear peanut butter all over it. What are you gonna have peanut butter on today, Harper?"
"I'm going to put it on my banana!! It is super good with them!"
Isabelle, didn't you tell me that one of your favorite peanut butter treats is Peanut Butter Panic ice cream? I think I would have to agree with you on that one...the chunks of chocolate mixed with the peanut butter cups...so yummy!! But I think today I'll stick with a good old fashion PB&J!
So lets all toast to National Peanut Butter Lovers Day! Hip Hip Hooray!
How will you celebrate this day? What is your favorite peanut butter treat??
~Cindy ♥
Hey... When did you get Izzy?

Say hi to the rest of the family for me!
-Kylie

DeleteHi Dolly Dormers!
ReplyDeleteI'm Julie Newman, and I'm a kid from the 70s. My favorite kind of peanut butter is Koogle. That's a peanut butter than comes in flavors! There's chocolate, vanilla, banana, and cinnamon. My favorite is chocolate and I love it on toast, pancakes, and bananas! My friend Kim likes banana flavor on chocolate cookies. In fact, all of my friends eat Koogle! Do you have Koogle in the future?
Hi Julie! Oh boy, we had never heard of Koogle before....but we looked it up on Google and it sounds totally scrumptious! We bet if we tried it, we'd have also love, love, loved the chocolate too! Sadly, Koogle is no longer available! But, we do have a yummy spread called Skippy® Natural Dark Chocolate that we might buy the next time we go to the grocery store. It temps us every time we see it!! We love Nutella WITH peanut butter....I wonder if we mixed them together....would they taste like Koogle? ☺ ~Cindy ♥
DeleteJulie, I forget when it went on the grocery shelf...do you have Smuckers Goober Grape and Goober Strawberry? Those are really good too. A PB&J in one jar, you just have to bring your own bread. :) You eat Wonder bread, right?
DeleteAll of that food looks SO good!! :D
ReplyDeleteHmm... I'm not sure what my favorite peanut butter treat is. I LOVE Reese's Pieces, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Nutter Butters, and that's all I can think of right now! I really like peanut butter! :)
~Jaclynn~
P.S. Where did you get the mini container of ice cream??
Hi Jaclynn! It definitely was! Mmm, those are also some of my favorites! :) We got our Peanut Butter Panic ice cream in the single serve section of our local grocery store. ~Cindy ♥

ReplyDelete~Christian Homeschooler
Hi there! You know what? None of us has ever tried peanut butter on apples and LOTS of people have said the same thing as you about how yummy that is. We're definitely going to try this the next time we get apples! Oh, and PB cookies are da bomb - especially warm right out of the oven! Actually, now that you mention it, I think I am gonna make some this afternoon! Yum!!!! ~Cindy ♥
Deletewhere did u get the yellow plates? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! We found those at an antique shop on one of our recent trips. We love that they match our kitchen perfectly! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteHi again Lisa, Just wanted to mention that we found a couple more yellow plates this week and will be listing them for sale this weekend in our Etsy shop; https://www.etsy.com/shop/DollyDormDesigns Just in case you are interested! We adore ours!! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteThats so nice that Isabelle is back in the family! I bet Lanie is happy!
ReplyDelete-Channing
Hi Channing! Yes, Lanie is overjoyed, and so are all the rest of us girls! :) ~Cindy ♥
DeleteIsabelle looks so pretty! You are so lucky to have Isabelle!!!
DeleteIs she staying permanently this time?
DeleteYes! She is! We are all so exited! :D ~Cindy ♥
DeleteHi Gabriella! Thank you! She is very happy to be here. :) ~Cindy ♥
DeleteI love your posts! Your style is so cool and all the little trinkets you have are so cool!
ReplyDeleteHiya! Thank you soo much for all of your kind words...we really appreciate it! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteThat is AWESOME! We love peanut butter. We're Peter Pan girls at Tea Time with Melody Q. Love it so much we can just eat it from the jar with a spoon. And one of the best pick-me-ups when not feeling 100% is to open a brand new jar, peel back that safety seal, and make the first dig into the smooth top. The aroma is wonderful too. We favor the Peter Pan Natural Creamy.
ReplyDeleteOh, and have you tried peanut butter - nutella cookies? They are fabulous!
Heya Melody! We love Peter Pan too! It is by far the creamiest brand. I must confess, that more than one of us goes single dipping in the jar with out spoons! Shhh...don't tell anybody! ;) Do you mean putting peanut butter and Nutella on a cookie, cause if so, YES! We have. We also like peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches. But if there's a cookie out there that already comes with both on it...we haven't heard about it. ~Cindy ♥
DeleteLOL Yeah, we do some single dipping now and then too. And did you know a spoonful of peanut butter can cure hiccups? Works for us every time.
DeleteWe bought the cookies at a bake sale. Someone modified a peanut butter cookie recipe to include both regular peanut butter and Nutella. I'm certain that recipe can be found online now.
Later. :-D
No way!! Hiccups? That's a MUCH better solution than holding your breath or drinking an entire glass of water without breathing! We are soooo gonna do that next time one of us gets hiccups!! That recipe sounds yummy....gonna Google it! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteYep. Sometimes it might take two teaspoons, but hey what a way to go, right?
Deletei LOVE peanut butter! lol
ReplyDeleteHey Meghan! I know right?! It is super tasty! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteI LOVE peanut butter! I think my favorite thing with peanut butter is Reese's cups, Reese's pieces, and apples and peanut butter!!! And I was wondering, what number is Cindy?
ReplyDeleteMmm, Reese's! I love those! I am #27...but I came from Pleasant Company and was the first girl made with earrings! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteCould you please tell me where you got the adorable ice cream container and scoop? It's super cute!
ReplyDeleteHi there Sara, Check your local grocery stores in the 'single serve' section for Ice Creams. They had several flavors!! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteI nominated you for the Leibster Award on my blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!
DeleteOMG! where, where, WHERE did you get that ice cream container?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteHi there, Check your local grocery stores in the 'single serve' section! ~Cindy ♥
Deletewhat number is Christina? because I have her but I can't find out her number! please help!~Tess<3
ReplyDeleteHi Tess! Christina is #39. HTH! ~Cindy ♥
Deletehey, its me again! have you ever noticed that all the Issabelle dolls seem a little bit different in some way? because my BFF and I have Izzy and they both look slightly different! P.S. I know I'm spelling Issabelle with two S's and AG only spells it with one, but my cat's name is Issabella and we have always spelled her name with two S's so it's kinda just a habit!~Tess<3
ReplyDeleteHi Tess!
DeleteYes, we do agree that they are all different! We noticed that too! And that's a very pretty spelling of Issabelle!
~Cindy ♥
Hi! I was wondering... where did you get your table and chairs?
ReplyDeleteHi there, Our table and chairs are not AG so they are a bit "larger scale" than we would like but we do like to "recycle, reuse & reduce" so we use it. However, we are thinking about cutting the legs down a bit so the table is a better height for us when we are standing around chatting. The table and chairs came as part of a "baby doll" set that also included a cradle and high chair. We do see it now and again on eBay so I'd suggest checking there since we got this many years ago at Costco. ~D3 Girls♥
DeleteWhere did you get the ice cream and scoop?
ReplyDeleteWe got the ice cream at our local grocery store in the single-serve section. Information about the scoop is coming soon!! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteWhere did you get the PB and J uncrustables please? If you made them, could you post a tutorial? They are so cute and yummy looking!
ReplyDeleteHiya! We got them from Pippaloo on Etsy! They are so cute, aren't they?! ~Cindy ♥
DeleteHi! How do you make all of your wonderful food! And how do you find things for american girl dolls? (Shelf, oven, etc.) I love this blog and would like to have something like this for my doll but I don't know where to start!
ReplyDeleteHiya Maddie! Some of the food featured on our blog is made by us....we have an Etsy store called DollyDormDesigns. Some of the foods we have bought from other Etsy sellers. There are lots of great AG related shops there...you should check it out! The other items in our dorm kitchen have been purchased from a variety of places. We hope to do a room-by-room photo tour one day and talk about each of the items. However, if you want to know anything specific, just ask! The shelf was from Michaels but we haven't seen them since we bought them on clearance two years ago. :( The oven and the fridge are by a company called Miele and you can find them on the internet and on eBay®. The prices can be high but if you watch over a period of time, you can get a good deal on one like we did. Good luck! ~D3 Girls ♥
DeleteHow did you do your hair Cindy? It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHi Evie! Thanks! I did a four-strand braid, but braided one of the four strands...and it turned out like this! Glad you like it! :) ~Cindy ♥
DeleteCindy, do you ever feel left out from the other girls with their ears pierced because you can't change your earrings out? Or do you like not having to decide which earrings to wear, and besides, silver pretty much goes with anything.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I wish I could switch out my earrings. But at the same time, it makes me feel unique that I have own special pair of earrings. They go with everything, I don't have to worry about losing them, and it's nice to not having to decide which pair to wear everyday- since I am horrible at making decisions! LOL! ~Cindy ♥
